Lighting in Cannes is different from Dubai, so I can get this fantastic blue color of the sky.

Last day shooting with Maya and the weather didn’t help. I used my big flesh to make sure photos don’t look pale on such a sunless day. We had very small amount of time, but everything went just great.

How to prepare for a photoshoot in the desert

1.Check the weather before to book your shoot

Even it is always hot weather in Dubai, it is still better to check meteo before preparing for a photo shoot. If the weather is foggy, you will not get a fantastic blue clear sky, but grey instead. Of course, there are ways to improve it in post-production, but it wants to be the same as during good sunny weather. 

2. Book your driver.

Make sure that your safari driver has the license to go to the red desert.

There are two types of the desert white and red. The results you want to get for a photoshoot you will get in the red desert. The white desert gives more of a dusty look on photos. 

3.Timings.

The way from your pick up location to a shooting location will take one approximately 1 hour; you might need to scout for a better location if the place is too busy, keep that in mind. It would be best if you allowed yourself plenty of time on the day of the photoshoot, because delays are common.

4. Makeup and hair.

It makes a change if you book professional makeup artist and hairstylist before a shoot. It certainly would give you more confidence, and you will look at your best. Hair and make up usually would take around 2-2,5 hours. Before photoshoot would be great to look for some inspirational photos to get the vibe and to practice interesting poses.

5. Important

I would recommend starting your session around 3:30 pm to get shoots during golden hour time. Sunset in Dubai is around 5:30 pm, so if you have different outfits, think about the time you need to change. For a personal photoshoot, I would recommend a maximum of two outfits per hour because it is better to concentrate on the mood of the shoot and posing. For a fashion brand, if you work with a professional model and want to shoot as many outfits as possible, I would recommend no more than 4- 5 outfits if you shoot in the desert.

Showcase your brand in France

I want to share my experience for a fashion brand based in Dubai, which is specialized in a ball gown, wedding gown, evening attire.
Ageless collections have a big showroom in Dubai, I got a pleasure to direct photoshoots, shoot as a photographer, and be a model and brand ambassador for this fantastic band.
I started my first shoot in France, Cannes, during Cannes Movies Festival. To bring the brand in France to one of the most popular events of the year and to Paris later, I think to bring a lot of value to Dubai based brand.
During Cannes Movies Festival, I got featured in Nice newspaper and Chinese TV.

When women support each other incredible things happen.

Significant attention in mass media is attached to female power; women supporting each other, women empowerment, it makes me happy and sad at the same time.

Hard to imagine that only 100 years ago, women couldn’t vote or go to work without the permission of their husbands. However, it would take 202 years to close the economic gender gap…

It is excellent that female power is in trend, but I feel like businesses are using this topic to create hype around their brands and don’t understand the real meaning of it, nether care about it, as at my experience.

I think the best thing that women can do is to support each other on a daily basis, don’t criticize, don’t get jealous of each other but get inspired and supportive. Don’t go into the competition with other women, because together we are stronger.

Behind a successful woman is another successful woman.
